Richard became a Christian at secondary school. He was seriously worried about career choices and where life would lead when he was given a Gideon New Testament which he read each night. Reading the Bible helped him greatly to make sense of life and it continues to do so decades later. Then through a speaker at the Christian Union at sixth form, he realized that God died for him personally and he gave his life to Christ. Soon after that Richard moved from Sussex to attend Kingston Polytechnic, as it was then.
Richard met his wife Hazel at Hook church and they have 4 (largely) grown up children. He is an electronics design engineer and enjoys challenges and solving technical problems. Richard also likes the outdoors - mountains, sea, countryside - and enjoys walking and occasional sailing.
Richard enjoys meeting new people and has had the privilege of traveling to more than 45 different counties in various parts of the world, experiencing many different cultures. He heads up the church's Global Vision Team looking to share the Good News of Christ to those who have not yet heard the message of life which saved him and changed his life for eternity.
