HORIZONS

Horizons is an informal support group for ladies who are suffering with a long term illness.

Our meetings are certainly not “doom and gloom”!   The atmosphere is home based, relaxed and blessed by some real characters. We draw on each other but understand that our ultimate strength comes from God in heaven.  You may have suffered from any long term illness. Through God's grace, our arms are open to you.

Prisons

Prisons

prison outreach

We believe that the good news of Jesus is for everyone and this is the central reason why some people in our fellowship support those who visit prisons with Prison Outreach Network, an inter-church organisation who visit many prisons up and down the country to lead Sunday morning services in the chapels of England's jails.

In addition a few of our fellowship have links to Christian Prison Resources. CPR is an organisation which exists to assist prisoners and detainees in HM Prisons, Young Offenders Institutions and Immigration Removal Centres to trust in Christ, deepen their Christian faith, and walk with Him in such a way that it causes all relationships to be profoundly changed for the better. This reflects the Bible's teaching on relationships. A significant part of the ministry of CPR is also to assist Prison Chaplains in their work. To support this, CPR is involved in raising the profile of prison ministry among Christian leaders, congregations and individual Christians.

We pray that God might use Christian men and women who share the the good news about Jesus with inmates of our Country's jails to change lives and restore relationships, with God, family and community.

"...when I was in prison you came and visited me" Matthew 25:36

Suffering Church

Suffering Church

suffering church

Every second Monday (at 10am and 8pm) in the month we hold a prayer meeting for our brothers and sisters who are persecuted for following Jesus. All are welcome to the meetings.

We also have regular times in the main church prayer meetings plus slots in church services in order to give more information on our wider church family. We sometimes run events to raise awareness and finances. These include: The Open Doors Great Big Tea Party, writing cards at Christmas to Christians imprisoned for their faith, and socials to write cards and get more information.

"I tell you the truth, anyone who gives a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward." Mark 9:41

We do fundraising events for the Suffering Church.
