I became a Christian in the early 1990’s through the friendship of a Christian couple, who Barbara and myself met when we were applying to start fostering. Barbara and I married in 1983 and have 2 grown-up sons Joe and Carl.
I initially worked in engineering and after studying, started working in social work until I retired 2 years ago.
As a Deacon I am mainly responsible for the non-electrical maintenance in the church building. I have an interest in mechanical engineering history, especially railway engineering, as well as family history, reading and folk music.
Barbara and myself have a concern for Christians around the world who are persecuted because of their faith and work in ways we can support them.
I have a great interest in evangelism and help with Open Air Mission on a regular basis.
