Hook Blessing - July 2020
On Mon 15th June the Hook Blessing project set off. 50 of us were sent the words of ’The Blessing’ , a trial version of the song, and instructions/ helpful hints on recording and we were asked to record ourselves singing it over the next week. We each attended a preparatory Zoom-call, and we then set about learning the words, and the melody to this beautiful song.
The organisational team, who had made the way for us to prepare this recording, were Nicole, Nella, Joyce and Anna.
The singers sent their videos in around Mon 22nd June. Then Nicole set about collating the audio, which was fairly straight forward, and then the video images of each of the singers singing at that respective time, which proved a lot more difficult. Then, on 21st July we were invited to listen to a virtually-completed Hook Blessing. On Sat 25th July was another opportunity to hear the Hook Blessing , before it was to be played at the end of our Morning Service on Sun 26th July.
Even sending the final recording over to the tech guy required Nicole driving the recording on a memory stick to Dan’s house early morning. But, after a tremendous effort, from all the singers recording, to all the behind-the-scenes organisation: Zoom calls etc, and Nicole with a great deal of perseverance, we have this wonderful recording of the Hook Blessing. Enjoy it and be blessed!
What a beautiful song!

Pastor Paul Pease reads out the original words of the blessing from Numbers 6 v24 - 26. Later on Paul speaks words from Ephesians 3: ‘praying that you will have the power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.’
Outtakes: fildren, The Lord bless you and kiss you.
A huge thank you to Nicole for overseeing this project, and we pray That the Lord will truly bless you and keep you as you listen to this song.
