#131. Christlikeness (6) – Five things to be full of…
“My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you…”
Galatians 4v19.
May the mind of Christ, my Saviour,
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and power controlling
All I do and say.
May the Word of God dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
Only through His power.
May the peace of God my Father
Rule my life in everything,
That I may be calm to comfort
Sick and sorrowing.
May the love of Jesus fill me,
As the waters fill the sea;
Him exalting, self abasing,
This is victory.
May His beauty rest upon me
As I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel,
Seeing only Him.

#128. Christlikeness (5) – “Any Questions?”
“My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you…”
Galatians 4v19.
Jesus asked so many questions
• “Who do the crowds say I am?” (Luke 9v18)
• “Do you want to get well?” (John 5v6)
• “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” (Matthew 22v42)
• “What do you want me to do for you?” (Luke 18v41)
• “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” (Matthew 21v31)
“Jesus’ questions were simple, clear, never condescending, always provocative… His questions were always fresh and attuned to the unique needs of the people He was talking to…” (Karen Lee-Thorp)
Having Christ formed in us (becoming like Jesus) has ethical, moral, holy implications for us. It also has social implications. Jesus’ questions were designed to help people know what they really thought and to bring the best out of them and to help them flourish.
Let’s try and ask thoughtful questions. Then we will be a little more like Jesus.
