A Passover Seder - experience ‘the Last Supper’

Last Supper2.jpg

This evening we shall be going through a Passover Seder: when we will experience the Passover Seder which Jesus celebrated with His disciples, which we know as the ‘Last Supper’, on the night before the crucifixion.

We shall discover the context of Jesus’s words from the Gospel accounts of the Last Supper, as He gave the traditional Passover Seder celebration a new meaning: the Jewish people celebrate each year their rescuing from slavery in Egypt, saved by of the blood of the perfect lamb on their doorposts - through Jesus we, as Christians, celebrate salvation through the shedding of His blood, the Perfect Lamb of God, who ‘takes away the sin of the world’.

It is a really interesting and moving evening, and it will also help us see the context of our celebration of Communion, which came from the section of the Seder celebration which took place after supper.

The Passover Seder will begin at 7.30pm. There will be light refreshments in the middle. Everyone is welcome - it is quite interactive, and children are also most welcome.
